How This Process Unfolds

Symbolic representation of Dr. Sylvia Peske walking the path of personal awareness and transformation.

This work moves beyond insight alone and into embodied change.

We work with what is happening in real time — in your thoughts, emotions, body, and patterns — and addressing it directly as it unfolds.

Core Orientation

This is not about fixing what is broken.

Much of what feels stuck or repetitive is not dysfunction, but experience that has not yet been fully seen, understood, or integrated.

When these patterns are seen clearly and without avoidance, they begin to shift.

How Sessions Actually Feel

Sessions are not scripted or linear.

At times, we slow things down to allow clarity to emerge.
At times, we engage directly with patterns as they are happening.

This can include:

  • noticing thoughts or emotional responses in real time

  • tracking what is happening in the body

  • working with memory, imagery, or internal experience

  • naming patterns as they appear and staying with them long enough for something new to happen

This is an active process, but not forced.

Your Role + My Role

This work is collaborative.

I bring structure, observation, and intervention when needed.
You bring your awareness, experience, and willingness to engage.

Change does not come from talking alone.
It comes from how you work with what is happening.

Optional Spiritual Layer

For some clients, this process also includes engaging with meaning, symbolism, archetypal frameworks, and deeper layers of experience.

This can be understood in psychological or spiritual terms, depending on your orientation.

These are not required but they are available when relevant and desired.

Therapeutic Modalities

I draw from multiple evidence-based and depth-oriented approaches, depending on what is needed in the moment.

EMDR Therapy

For reprocessing distressing memories and restoring emotional balance.

Jungian Psychology

For working with dreams, symbolism, and unconscious patterns.

Somatic Processing

For working with bodily awareness to support regulation, integration, and nervous system stability.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

For working with different parts of yourself to reduce internal conflict and support integration.

Mindfulness & Meditation

For cultivating present-moment awareness to support regulation and clearer engagement with experience..

Hypnotherapy

For working with focused attention and subconscious processes to support change in patterns and responses.

Emotion-Focused Therapy

For working with emotions to support processing, shift emotional patterns, and create new responses.

Narrative & Cognitive-Behavioural Approaches

For identifying and shifting patterns of thought and behaviour to support clearer choices and response.

Depth-Oriented Processing

For working with deeper layers of experience, including meaning, symbolism, and internal awareness as they arise.

This work supports lasting change in how you relate to your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, not just understanding them, but working with them differently.

If this approach resonates, you can begin with an initial consultation or book a session when you feel ready.
