Hypnotherapy
Sometimes change begins beneath conscious awareness.
Why do I keep doing this when I know better?
You may understand exactly where a pattern comes from, recognize when it is happening, and even know how you would rather respond. Yet insight does not always change what happens automatically.
Some patterns operate outside our immediate awareness, shaped by beliefs, emotional learning, and responses that have become deeply familiar. Hypnotherapeutic approaches give us another way of working with these patterns by narrowing and focusing attention, allowing us to engage with experience beyond what we can simply think our way through.
What would this look like in therapy?
You remain present and engaged in the process. The difference is in where and how we direct your attention.
I integrate hypnotherapeutic techniques into our broader therapeutic work rather than using them as a separate process. We might work with imagery, focused awareness, suggestion, or whatever emerges as attention turns inward. What we do depends on you, what we are exploring, and what fits naturally within the work.
Is there actually more going on beneath the surface?
Sometimes our automatic responses make more sense when we become curious about what is happening underneath them. Rather than trying to override a pattern through conscious effort alone, we can explore the deeper associations and responses that may be helping to maintain it.
Working at this level can create space for something different to emerge while remaining connected to the work we are already doing together.
Could this be something we explore together?
If you are curious about working with subconscious processes as part of therapy, we can explore what that might look like for you.
